/**** Cheezi for Windows V2.1 - Quick Start Documentation ****/ Copyright (C) 1993 by: Paul T. Dawson P.O. Box 682 Chincoteague, Virginia 23336 /**** Quick Description ****/ A Windows adaptation of a classic board game. /**** System Requirements ****/ > Computer running Windows V3.1. > At least 1 meg FREE memory. > EGA or higher color monitor. > A mouse. > VBRUN200.DLL runtime file. /**** Getting Started ****/ This program requires a file called VBRUN200.DLL, and you probably already have this file! It isn't included due to its large size. If you don't have VBRUN200.DLL, here are some places to find it: 1 - The BBS where you downloaded this program. 2 - The distributor where you got this program on a disk. 3 - Almost any CD-ROM with Windows programs on it. 4 - The author of this program (if all else fails). At this point, you should have several new files in a temporary directory on your hard disk. You can try the program just like that. You don't need to move anything, and the program will NOT change any files in any other directory! For example, make a directory called \CHEEZI, copy everything into \CHEEZI, and then run the program from File Manager. Then, if you don't want to keep the program, delete the \CHEEZI directory. Your system will be EXACTLY the way it was before you started! For a more permanent installation, here are the suggested locations for all of the files: CHEEZI.EXE .... \WINDOWS \ CHEEZI.FRM .... \WINDOWS \ (or wherever you keep CHEEZI.HLP .... \WINDOWS / your Windows games!) CHEEZI.TXT .... \WINDOWS / THREED.VBX .... \WINDOWS\SYSTEM You can use File Manager to move the files around, or the DOS COPY command, or the DOS MOVE command, whichever is easiest for you! The file THREED.VBX is a Visual Basic Custom Control file. You might already have a copy of this! If so, you can delete this copy. /**** Playing The Game ****/ To get started in a hurry, just click the "New Game..." button, then type your name into the "Player #1" text box (right next to the word "Human"). Then click the "Start Game" button, and you're playing! Click the "die" to roll, and hit F1 whenever you need some help. The CHEEZI.HLP file has a lot more information! /**** Making a Program Manager Icon ****/ It's very easy to create a icon in Program Manager. This technique works for Cheezi and almost any other Windows program. Just open up File Manager and Program Manager at the same time. Select the EXE file in the file list, by clicking on it once. Now, hold down the mouse button and drag it over to Program Manager. Then let go! That's all there is to it. There will be a new icon in Program Manager, and you can double-click on it to start the program! /**** Reminder ****/ Please check the CHEEZI.HLP file for registration information! Have fun, and good luck! /**** That's All For This Time!!! ****/
